Jenny Böhme, Founder
Hello dear reader!
I'm Jenny Böhme, and I'm so glad you're here.
I'm from Germany, where I run familienkost.de, a food blog for families that has been part of my life since 2012. As a certified nutritionist and mother of three, I’m passionate about sharing simple, wholesome recipes with families to make everyday cooking easier and more enjoyable.
My journey in the kitchen began with my grandmother, who taught me how to cook and create warmth and connection through food. Born in Silesia in 1928, she knew about the power of honest ingredients.
Growing up in the former GDR, I learned to appreciate and love down-to-earth meals that were simple yet filled with love and meaning. Now, I’m excited to share these cherished, authentic German dishes with you—from breakfast ideas to cozy dinners, from delicious desserts to classic cakes like versunkener Apfelkuchen.
Emil Böhme, Co- Founder
Hello, dear reader! I’m Emil Böhme, a 13-year-old student attending FSGN in 8th grade. I’ve always had a passion for technology and web development, which began with helping out on our family’s German website, familienkost.de. Now, I’m excited to be the technical lead for our new site, germanfamilyfood.com, where we bring the best German recipes to the world.
I work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, while my mom, Jenny Böhme, shares our favorite recipes. Whether you're looking for traditional meals, sweet treats, or everyday cooking inspiration, we’ve got you covered!
